Olympic champion Jasmine Camacho-Quinn and reigning Wanda Diamond League champion Tobi Amusan are set to go head to head once again in a clash of the 100m hurdles titans at the sixth leg of the season in Lausanne on June 30th.
Amusan and Camacho-Quinn vied for supremacy in the women's 100m hurdles last season, and Lausanne promises to be the next chapter in a thrilling rivalry.
Nigeria's Amusan is the reigning world champion and world record holder, having clocked 12.12 at the World Athletics Championships in Oregon last year. She later went on to win the Diamond Trophy, picking up her second Diamond League title in as many years.
Camacho-Quinn, meanwhile, was the most consistent winner on the Diamond League circuit over the past two seasons, claiming six victories in nine races over the course of the season. That included a handful of victories over Amusan, including at last year's Athletissima in Lausanne, where the Puerto Rican star clocked a meeting record of 12.34.
Amusan, meanwhile, delivered her standout performance in the Wanda Diamond League final, setting a meeting record of 12.29 to defend her title and frustrate Camacho-Quinn at the crucial moment.
Camacho-Quinn has already got points on the board in her bid to qualify for this year's final, having won the 100m hurdles at the season opener in Doha last Friday.
The two stars will be joined by Switzerland's Ditaji Kambundji and Finland's Reetta Hurske.
Other stars set to compete at the Lausanne Diamond League include Ukraine's Yaroslava Mahuchikh , who is hoping to defend her Wanda Diamond League title in the women's high jump this season.
Mahuchikh will go up against Australia's Nicola Olyslagers and Belgiums Nafissatou Thiam in the high jump, while reigning Wanda Diamond League 800m champion Mary Moraa takes on 2021 champion Keely Hodgkinson in the women's 800m.
The Wanda Diamond League is athletics' premier one-day meeting series, which comprises 14 of the most prestigious events in global track and field. Athletes compete for points at the 13 series meetings in a bid to qualify for the two-day Wanda Diamond League Final in Eugene on 16th-17th September.
