Rai Benjamin will return to the site of his 2023 Diamond League title win when he headlines the men's 400m hurdles at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene on July 5.
US star Benjamin enjoyed the finest moment of his Diamond League career so far at the series final in Eugene in 2023, clocking a meeting record of 46.39 to get his hands on the Diamond Trophy for the first time.
He returns to the Prefontaine Classic in 2025 as strong favourite, following a dominant campaign across all major competitions last season.
Benjamin won gold in the 400m hurdles and 4x400m at the Olympic Games in Paris last August, just a few weeks after he claimed a statement victory over long-term rivals Karsten Warholm and Alison Dos Santos at the Wanda Diamond League meeting in Monaco.
Now the second-fastest man in the world behind Warholm, the American will be eyeing a first world title and a continuing his quest for the world record in 2025.
The Wanda Diamond League is the elite one-day meeting series in global athletics. It comprises 15 of the most prestigious events in global track and field. Athletes compete for points at the 14 series meetings in a bid to qualify for the two-day Wanda Diamond League Final, which will be held in Zurich on 27th and 28th August 2025.
