Olympic 110m hurdles champion Grant Holloway will return to the scene of his greatest triumph on June 20, when he joins French stars Cyréna Samba-Mayela and Wilhelm Belocian in a star-studded sprint hurdles line up at the eighth Wanda Diamond League meeting of the season in Paris.
Holloway raced to gold in 12.99 at Paris 2024, cementing his status as the best 110m hurdler in the world and adding another global title to his three World Championship gold medals and 2022 Diamond Trophy.
Three years after he was last crowned Diamond League champion, the American is launching a bid to regain the title this year, having already confirmed his attendance in Xiamen, Shanghai and Silesia.
At the Meeting de Paris, he will go up against local star Wilhelm Belocian, who recently claimed silver behind Holloway in the 60m hurdles at the World Indoor Championships in Nanjing.
French fans will have an even bigger star to get behind in the women's 100m hurdles, with Olympic silver medallist Cyréna Samba-Mayela making her first appearance on home soil since Paris 2024.
Samba-Mayela, who is an Ile-de-France native who trains in Texas, claimed her first ever Diamond League win in Eugene last year before going on to snatch a sensational silver in her home city last summer.
“Competing in Paris, in front of a French crowd and my loved ones, will naturally be extra special, "said the European champion. "Less than a year on from the incredible Olympic experience, I’m looking forward to showing what I’m made of on the Charléty track and reliving the thrilling atmosphere.”
The Wanda Diamond League is the elite one-day meeting series in global athletics. It comprises 15 of the most prestigious events in global track and field. Athletes compete for points at the 14 series meetings in a bid to qualify for the two-day Wanda Diamond League Final, which will be held in Zurich on 27 and 28 August 2025.
