US shot put legends Ryan Crouser and Joe Kovacs will take on their fellow Olympic medallist Rajindra Campbell in a rematch of the Paris 2024 final at the ninth Wanda Diamond League meeting of the season in Eugene.
This year's Prefontaine Classic, which takes place at Hayward Field on July 5, will reunite the full podium from last year's Olympic final in what promises to be another nailbiting clash in the men's shot put.
World record holder Crouser claimed gold with 22.90m in Paris, with Kovacs and Campbell claiming gold and silver behind him as both landed throws of 22.15m.
Yet the shot put remains one of the most unpredictable disciplines in the Diamond League, with a wealth of competitors able to clear 23 metres on their day.
Kovacs beat Crouser in the Diamond League Final in Eugene in 2023, and also claimed victory at last year's Prefontaine Classic with a world leading 23.13m.
Both men lost to Italy's Leonardo Fabbri at the 2024 Wanda Diamond League Final in Brussels, and will be keen to regain the series title in 2025.
Crouser has won the Diamond Trophy only once, in 2021, while Kovacs is a three-time Diamond League champion.
Jamaican star Campbell is yet to win a Diamond League meeting, and will be hoping to open his account in Eugene.
The Wanda Diamond League is the elite one-day meeting series in global athletics. It comprises 15 of the most prestigious events in global track and field. Athletes compete for points at the 14 series meetings in a bid to qualify for the two-day Wanda Diamond League Final, which will be held in Zurich on 27 and 28 August 2025.
