The 2023 Wanda Diamond League season got off to a sparkling start in Doha on Friday, with official timekeeper Omega recording a number of world-leading and record-breaking performances from the biggest track and field stars on the planet.
There were world leads in the women's 1500m and women's pole vault among others, while new meeting records were set in the men's discus, the women's 100m and the men's 3000m.
It was Indian javelin star Neeraj Chopra, however, who delivered the Omega Moment of the Meeting.
The reigning Wanda Diamond League champion got his title race off to an explosive start in the men's javelin, throwing an enormous 88.67m in the first round of the competition.
It was a throw which set a new world lead for 2023 and which none of his rivals were able to match in windy conditions in the Qatari capital. Chopra still has his sights set on the elusive 90-metre mark, but he has laid down a marker in Doha, proving that he is still the man to beat in the Wanda Diamond League this season.
