From Karsten Warholm's Diamond League record in the 400m hurdles to Jakob Ingebrigtsen's European record in the 1500m, the Wanda Diamond League Oslo delivered a barrage of stunning performances on Thursday.
A grand total of eight meeting records fell on an electric evening at the Bislett Games, with local heroes Warholm and Ingebrigtsen rightfully dominating the headlines for their superb performances in the final races of the night.
Yet the OMEGA Moment of the Meeting this week goes to a performance which, though it flew under the radar, may prove to be a crucial milestone in the development of one of athletics' most exciting young talents.
US sprinter Erriyon Knighton may not have set a series or area record with his 19.77 in the men's 200m, but he certainly made history. At the tender age of 19, the American can now boast having stolen a meeting record from the greatest sprinter of all time, Usain Bolt.
Knighton's crossed the line with a time 0.02 seconds faster than Bolt's previous meeting record, elbowing his way past the great Jamaican in the Bislett and Diamond League history books.
"I felt very good coming into the race and am pleased to take the meeting record from Usain Bolt," said Knighton, who also insisted that he wanted to build his own legacy as a sprinter. "I want to make a name for myself at the Diamond League and to be remembered going forward as the meeting record holder."
