Reigning Wanda Diamond League long jump champion Simon Ehammer will be out to claim a first ever home Diamond League win when he hits the runway at Athletisssima in Lausanne on August 22nd.
Ehammer wrote himself into the Diamond League history books last season when he secured his first Diamond League win in Oslo and followed it up with victory in the series final in Eugene.
The only blemish on an otherwise dreamy season was his failure to win at either of his home meets, as Laquan Nairn won the long jump in Lausanne and Miltiadis Tentoglou took victory at Weltklasse Zürich.
Ehammer will be hoping to set that straight when he returns to Athletissima in August for the first Diamond League meeting after the Olympic Games in Paris.
He will be one of several Swiss stars in action in Lausanne.
In the 110m hurdles, Jason Joseph will be out to emulate his home heroics in Zurich last year, where he clocked 13.08 to pick up his first ever Diamond League win.
Fellow hurdler Ditaji Kambundji will also feature in the women's 100m hurdles, a non-Diamond League event, while her sister Mujinga Kambundji lines up alongside Ajla Del Ponte in the women's 100m.
The Wanda Diamond League is the premier one-day meeting series in athletics. It comprises 15 of the most prestigious events in global track and field. Athletes compete for points at the 14 series meetings in a bid to qualify for the two-day Wanda Diamond League Final in Brussels on 13th-14th September.
