Olympic 400m hurdles champion Karsten Warholm will be back in Wanda Diamond League action in Monaco next month after he got his 2023 campaign off to a winning start on home soil in Oslo.
Injured for much of last season, Warholm returned to the Diamond League circuit in style last week when he posted a world-lead and Diamond League record of 46.52 in front of his home fans.
He will be hoping to build on that performance at Herculis EBS Monaco on July 21st, an event at which he broke the meeting record with a superb 47.08 back in 2021.
Having lost his Diamond League title to Alison Dos Santos last season, world record holder Warholm will almost certainly secure qualification to this year's final with another win at the Stade Louis II, as he bids for a third career Diamond Trophy this year.
The Wanda Diamond League is the premier one-day meeting series in athletics. It comprises 14 of the most prestigious events in global track and field. Athletes compete for points at the 13 series meetings in a bid to qualify for the two-day Wanda Diamond League Final in Eugene on 16th-17th September.
