Olympic champions Karsten Warholm will be out for revenge when he takes on two-time Diamond League champion Kyron mcMaster in a headline 400m hurdles event at his home Wanda Diamond League meeting in Oslo next month.
Warholm suffered a surprise defeat to McMaster in Zurich last season, cutting short what had been a dominant Diamond League campaign for the Norwegian after his return from injury. After missing out on the title to Rai Benjamin in Eugene, the 28-year-old will be chomping at the bit to regain the Diamond Trophy this season.
Warholm and McMaster will also be joined by 2022 Wanda Diamond League champion Alison Dos Santos, with the Brazilian hoping to reconjure the kind of form which saw him storm to the Diamond League and world titles two years ago. Wilfried Happio, Rasmus Mägi and CJ Allen make up the rest of a star-studded field.
In the women's 400m, the Dominican Republic's Marileidy Paulino will go up against the likes of Poland's Natalia Kaczmarek and the Netherlands' Lieke Klaver as she aims to continue her dominance over one lap and make it three Diamond League titles in a row this year.
Paulino started her season with a comfortable victory in Xiamen last weekend, and admitted that she was eyeing an attack on the world record in 2024.
Dutch discus star Jorinde Van Klinken will be hoping to emulate her stunning victory at last year's Bislett Games when she takes on China's Feng Bin, Cuba's Yaime Perez and six-time Diamond League champion Sandra Elkasevic.
The Wanda Diamond League is the premier one-day meeting series in athletics. It comprises 15 of the most prestigious events in global track and field. Athletes compete for points at the 14 series meetings in a bid to qualify for the two-day Wanda Diamond League Final in Brussels on 13th-14th September.
